Islamabad, September 2024 — The Centre of Excellence for Technology Quantum and AI (CETQAP) has launched Pakistan’s first Quantum Interactive Portal, marking a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards embracing advanced quantum technologies. The portal aims to serve as a hub for researchers, educators, and industry professionals, providing them with access to cutting-edge quantum computing resources, educational tools, and collaborative platforms.
The inauguration ceremony was held at CETQAP’s headquarters in Islamabad, attended by leading figures in the fields of science, technology, and education. Dr. Ali Khan, the Director of CETQAP, highlighted the importance of this initiative in positioning Pakistan as a key player in the global quantum computing landscape.
“Our mission is to democratize access to quantum technologies and ensure that Pakistan is not left behind in this rapidly evolving field,” Dr. Khan stated during his keynote address. “The Quantum Interactive Portal is designed to provide a comprehensive platform where users can explore quantum algorithms, simulate quantum circuits, and collaborate on innovative projects.”
The portal offers a range of features aimed at fostering a quantum-ready workforce in Pakistan:
Quantum Simulator: Users can simulate quantum circuits and algorithms, allowing them to experiment with quantum computing without the need for physical quantum computers.
Educational Resources: A repository of tutorials, lectures, and research papers to help users of all levels, from beginners to advanced researchers, understand quantum computing.
Collaborative Platform: A space for researchers and industry experts to collaborate on quantum-related projects, share insights, and drive innovation.
Industry Integration: The portal also provides tools for businesses to explore the potential of quantum computing in solving complex problems, from cryptography to optimization challenges.
The launch of the Quantum Interactive Portal is part of CETQAP’s broader strategy to develop a robust quantum computing ecosystem in Pakistan. By providing access to these advanced tools and resources, CETQAP aims to equip the next generation of scientists and engineers with the skills necessary to lead in the quantum era.
Dr. Khan emphasized that this portal would not only benefit academic institutions but also play a crucial role in enhancing the technological capabilities of Pakistan’s industries. “Quantum computing has the potential to revolutionize numerous sectors, including finance, healthcare, and cybersecurity. With this portal, we are laying the groundwork for a future where Pakistan can leverage quantum technologies to solve some of its most pressing challenges.”
As CETQAP continues to expand its quantum initiatives, the Quantum Interactive Portal is expected to evolve with new features and capabilities. The center also plans to host a series of workshops and hackathons to encourage the practical application of quantum technologies among Pakistan’s tech community.
The launch of Pakistan’s first Quantum Interactive Portal is a testament to the country’s commitment to advancing in the global tech arena, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of innovation in the age of quantum computing.
